SAPOA/SAUSD Education Scholarships

Santa Ana Unified School District (SAUSD) Board of Education presented a “Certificate of Appreciation” to the Santa Ana Police Officers Association (SAPOA) Annual College Scholarships for district students. The award was presented on Tuesday, October 10, 2017.

“The SAPOA has been giving scholarships to our students for many years to our students from Santa Ana Unified,” stated, Vice President Valerie Amezcua as she introduced SAPOA President Gerry Serrano.

Serrano stated, “Santa Ana Police Officers Association is heavily involved in collaborating with the youth in our community. Since 2001 we have awarded over seventy-two thousand dollars in scholarships to high school students that have excelled in the classroom and outside the classroom.”

The SAPOA College Scholarship for SAUSD high school students is awarded annually to six students. The students are given one thousand dollars each toward the cost of their college expenses. The selected students are pursuing law enforcement as a career.
